It was sold in some markets under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth brands as the Conquest. Power came from a turbocharged 2.6 liter inline four engine known as the G54B, producing about 145 to 188 horsepower depending on the year and market. The rear wheel drive layout, widebody fenders, and available limited slip differential helped it compete with rivals like the Nissan 300ZX and Mazda RX-7. The name “Starion” is often said to have come from a mispronunciation of “Stallion,” though Mitsubishi has never confirmed this. The Chrysler PT Cruiser was a retro-styled compact wagon built for the 2001 through 2010 model years. Its styling was inspired by 1930s panel vans and street rods, with a tall roof, rounded fenders, and a tall front grille. The PT Cruiser was known for combining its unique look with a practical interior that featured easy entry, good headroom, fold-flat rear seats and plenty of cargo room for a compact vehicle.
