Promo pics of the third *Pantone* series, the Hot Wheels Silver series built around single-color designs. The six vehicles in this set draw inspiration from the Pantone color system.

1. '64 Corvette Sting Ray
2. Track Ripper
3. SRT Viper GTS-R
4. Mazda RX-8
5. Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)
6. '69 Nissan Skyline Van

This *Pantone* series is in mix "C" of assortment JKY47 and ships in 10-count cases. A case is supposed to have 3 of the Track Ripper, 2 each of the Mazda RX-8 and '64 Corvette Sting Ray, and 1 each of the others.

Pantone is a company best known for its standardized color system used to make sure colors match across different products and locations.

The Pantone Matching System was introduced in 1963 and assigns colors specific numbers that can be used by designers, printers, and manufacturers.

One of Pantone's best-known tools is the Formula Guide, a fan-shaped book filled with color samples. It also provides formulas showing printers how much of each base ink to mix to create a specific Pantone color.

The material a color appears on can make a difference. That's why Pantone has separate versions of colors for coated and uncoated paper, along with different color systems for things like fabrics, plastics, paints, and other materials.

Pantone is also known for selecting a Color of the Year, a program that started with Cerulean for 2000\. The 2026 Color of the Year is PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, a shade of white that Pantone says represents calm, simplicity, and a fresh start.

I do like the Track Ripper in purple, but having a fantasy casting at three per case is an odd choice. Maybe the case breakdown will be adjusted by the time these ship.
