U.S. Card

The Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC was introduced in the mid-'80s as an upscale and powerful variant of the W126 series. Only 28,929 were built from 1986 to 1991.

A special version of the 560 SEC enhanced with a wide body kit and other improvements was made by AMG.

International Card

AMG was originally an independent engineering company specializing in performance improvements for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

On 1 January 1999, AMG was acquired and became Mercedes-AMG, the high-performance subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG.

Short Card

AMG conversions of the Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC occurred after production of the car ended.

AMG enhanced the performance of the 560 SEC by enlarging the original 5.6-liter V8 engine to a 6.0-liter. Additionally, they gave it four valves per cylinder and dual-overhead camshafts.

Loose

It is unknown how many of the cars were made since AMG has never released conversion numbers.

Estimates are that only around 50 of the 560s were produced before AMG merged with Mercedes-Benz.
