Check out promo pics of Japan Historics 5, the first Hot Wheels Car Culture series of 2026. This set highlights classic Japanese cars from Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and Datsun, all of which are fan favorites in the JDM community.

  1. Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R LBWK
  2. Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno
  3. '77 Toyota Celica - New Casting
  4. Datsun 620
  5. '88 Honda CRX
  6. Datsun 510 Wagon - 0/5 Chase Car

2026 is the 10th anniversary of the Car Culture series, which brings changes to the chase cars. They are completely different vehicles, rather than just recolors of cars in the sets.

Car Culture vehicles are metal/metal with premium details and Real Rider wheels. Japan Historics 5 is in mix "P" of assortment FPY86 and ships in 10-count cases. Two of each vehicle should be in a case unless one has been replaced with the chase car.

The 1977 Toyota Celica GT is part of the first-generation Celica, which ran from 1970 to 1977, with the GT Liftback sold in the U.S. in 1976 and 1977.

It was built in Japan and targeted the North American market as an affordable sporty coupe to rival cars like the Mustang II.

In U.S. models, the Celica GT used Toyota’s 2.2-liter 20R four-cylinder engine, rated at about 96 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through either a 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic.

Performance for the U.S. Celica GT was modest, with 0 to 60 mph around 12 seconds and a top speed just over 100 mph.
