A Toyota Celica was a background vehicle in The Fast and the Furious.

The 2001 Toyota Celica is part of the seventh and final generation sold from 2000 through 2005. It featured front wheel drive and a sharp, angular design, moving away from the earlier rounded styling of the 1990s models.

Two engines were offered in 2001. The base GT used a 1.8 liter four cylinder making about 140 horsepower, while the GT S received a higher revving 1.8 liter engine producing about 180 horsepower with Toyota’s variable valve lift system.

Both versions came with manual or automatic transmissions and focused on light weight and handling rather than straight line speed.
