2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Code Red - Hot Wheels 2026 Red Line Club

The 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Code Red is the next 2026 Hot Wheels Red Line Club release. The car is Spectraflame indigo blue with light blue striping and features an opening hood and Real Rider wheels.

The Hot Wheels casting is based on the 2022 Shelby GT500 Code Red, a high-performance Mustang created by Shelby American and limited to just 30 cars. Shelby offered 10 Code Red conversions for GT500s from each of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 model years.

The first Code Red was an experimental Shelby GT500 built in 2008. Shelby replaced the car's supercharger with twin turbochargers, but its high cost and extreme performance kept it from going into production.

Shelby revived the idea in 2022, working with Fathouse Performance to develop the new Code Red. The factory supercharger was replaced by a twin-turbo system, while the 5.2-liter V8 received upgrades to the engine, fuel system, and cooling system.

The engine produces more than 1,000 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane gas. Running E85 increases output to as much as 1,300 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

The Code Red uses the GT500's seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which was upgraded to handle the additional power. Shelby also upgraded the suspension, brakes, and axles.

The Code Red was built for track use and is not street legal.

Other modifications include a widebody package, larger wheels and tires, adjustable front and rear springs, Ford Performance sway bars and a recalibrated MagneRide suspension. Carbon-fiber parts include the hood, front splitter, rear diffuser, rear wing and rocker wings.

Inside, the Code Red features leather-covered seats, embroidered floor mats and a harness bar, while the rear seats have been removed. The 2022 cars also received Shelby's 60th Anniversary badging along with Code Red badges and numbered engine and dash plates.

The Code Red conversion was originally announced at $209,995 and was later priced at $224,995, not including the donor GT500.
