Hot Wheels Showcase - Collection App

Hot Wheels Showcase - Collection App

Hot Wheels Showcase is an app released by Mattel that lets you manage your collection by adding, sorting, and keeping track of every car you own.

You can build custom wishlists to plan your next pickups and keep track of cars you want. Along the way, you can browse a database of over 30,000 Hot Wheels cars with detailed info and photos.

Hot Wheels Showcase is a mobile app for Android and iOS.

Discover lets you search through thousands of Hot Wheels and even cross-reference them by different variables. Here I was browsing Hot Wheels Collector Edition cars.

I also checked out all the purple Hot Wheels cars in the Boulevard series.

My Garage lets you view all the cars in your collection and shows how many of each you own. You can sort them by series and many other options.

Adding cars to My Garage is quite easy. I just hit the plus "+" symbol to add the Ghostbusters Ecto-1.

Hot Wheels cars can also be added to or removed from custom personal lists. For example, I created a “Spooky” list and a “Halloween” list.

The details page for each Hot Wheels car is packed with info. It also lets you change the quantity, add notes, and there’s a setting to mark a vehicle as carded, but I wasn’t completely sure where that information is displayed.

There are a few bugs, some missing car pics, and the app isn't compatible with all devices, but overall, it seems like a pretty solid release.

Android Emulator

If you’re curious why the screenshots above look like they were taken on a computer instead of a phone, it’s because they were. Hot Wheels Showcase is available for iOS and Android, but I also wanted to use it on my laptop.

If you would like to run the app on a Windows PC or Mac, you can do it with an Android emulator. An emulator is a program that lets you run Android on another device, like a computer.

You can find plenty of emulator options with a quick internet search. I used Bluestacks to install and run Hot Wheels Showcase on my laptop, so I can now access it from both my laptop and my phone.
